Task pipes for teams that live in Outline

Kanban pipes with typed tasks, incoming buckets to hand work to people and teams, and a calm next action for everyone. Your workspace, your server.

Everything a team needs to move work forward

TasksPipes takes the workspace you already have in Outline and gives it a place to track, hand over and finish work.

Pipes that fit the work

A pipe is a kanban board with a purpose. Pick a type from the catalog — sales, training design, software, QA, household… — or design your own, with its columns, task types and fields.

  • Typed tasks with their own fields, files and sub-tasks
  • Work-in-progress limits and swimlanes
  • Open pipes others can add to, private pipes for the team

Send work to people, not into the void

Every person and team has an incoming bucket. Send a task, and its recipient accepts it into a pipe — or refuses it with a reason, and it comes back to you.

  • Accept, refuse or turn a task into another type
  • Notified live, by e-mail or on your phone
  • Mentions, dependencies and full history

A calm next action for everyone

My tasks gathers everything you own across all pipes. Next action follows Getting Things Done: finish what is in progress, then start the task that matters most.

  • Late and due-soon tasks first
  • Blocked tasks never suggested
  • A calendar of due dates, with drag and drop

Built around Outline

Sign in with your Outline account and find your colleagues already there. Link a task to an Outline document, or create the document from the task.

  • Outline sign-in with an API key or OAuth
  • Accounts without Outline: e-mail links or company sign-in (OIDC)
  • Outline can be turned off entirely
